Description

This role incorporates key statement account reconciliations of landlord costs and business rates for our UK & International retail stores.

Reporting to the Accounts Payable Analyst, you will play a key role in ensuring aged creditors are reviewed, managed and that aging targets met.

Key tasks include:

  • Supplier statement reconciliations principally for all landlords (rents, service charges, insurance, etc) and UK rates
  • Investigate and clear aged un-allocated transactions on the ledger which are confirmed as not outstanding on supplier statements
  • Obtain and ensure processing of any missing invoices and credit notes
  • Accounting for the correct treatment of VAT
  • Review and obtain approval for clearance of any ledger balances which are unable to be fully reconciled. (e.g. due to age)
  • Resolve debit balances on our ledgers by ensuring all entries are correct and when appropriate obtaining refunds from landlords or councils.
  • Prompt and efficient resolution of queries from internal and external customers
  • Regular communication and resolution of queries with the Property and Finance teams.
  • Review the ‘Rents Master spreadsheet’ to ensure all store and landlord current data is accurate. Flag where differences occur.
  • Prepare data for a weekly review of reconciliations status against agreed targets / actions
  • Set up new suppliers and direct debits as required
  • Review of invoices in process against the Rents Master Control spreadsheet
  • Support of payment run generation and creation of approved ad hoc payments as required
  • Support in resolving any invoice queries and significant issues (e.g. final demands) promptly
  • Supporting co-workers within the team and working together to achieve business targets
  • Other ad-hoc duties as required

To be successful you must have:

  • Minimum 3 years AP experience of supplier accounts reconciliations; preferably with Property related suppliers
  • Great organisational skills and the ability to work under own initiative
  • Excellent numeracy and strong IT skills (particularly Excel)
  • Excellent attention to detail, performing all work with high levels of accuracy
  • Previous experience with SunSystems, Vision Q&A and V1 is an advantage
