Overview

Reporting to the Merchandiser you will be driving category sales and profit through inventory management, availability planning and ensuring promotional activity is executed successfully

What you'll be doing

1. Trading

  • Confidently identifies opportunities and risks and proposes solutions.
  • Review both store and line performance with team
  • Collaborates with Trading team to maximise store opportunity and growth
2. Planning
  • Provides accurate analysis to aid the development of the department strategy and range planning.
  • Using lessons learnt to assist in building line buys at appropriate level.
3. Intake management
  • Effective management and understanding of PTS process for entire category
  • Ensures intake availability inline with promo and catalogue launch.
  • Manages CON lines using line cards
4. Pricing and Promotional Activity
  • Understands and implements company pricing process 
  • Works across functions to manage the promotional critical path for effective in store promotions and catalogue for the category
  • Manages future promotions according to current trade
5. Manages Self and Others
  • Develops line reports.
  • Trains new team members across own team and wider merchandising function
  • Seeks opportunities and initiates own development.
  • Develop and maintains positive cross functional and external relationships.
  • Becomes an effective presenter and is able to communicate clearly and confidently, across all levels in the business

We'd love to meet someone with

  • Systems/planning tools –allocation systems, merchandising data system, Excel and Outlook
  • Knowledge of store operations / retail experience
  • Is professional at all times
  • Some Management training / experience desirable
  • Achievement of department KPIs
  • Develops both self and line reports
  • Accuracy of information/analysis provided
  • Timely provision of figures to business
  • On-time launch availability for PE, promo and catalogue
  • Manages CON availability through use of line cards
