Reports to: Mountain Warehouse Senior Technologist
Location: London
We have an opportunity for a full-time Garment Technologist to cover a sabbatical from mid-Dec 2024 to mid-July 2025. We are looking for a Technologist with experience of multi-product men’s, women’s and children’s clothing, knowledge of sustainable products and certification programmes is an advantage.
What you’ll be doing
- Managing the quality of multi-product men’s, women’s, children’s clothing (predominantly womenswear).
- Developing sustainable product to minimise impact of product on people and environment.
- Running fit meetings to drive consistency and improvement.
- Driving innovation in product, performance, and sustainability through benchmarking and technical advances.
- Integral part of the buying team, advising on technical and sustainable suitability of fabric, construction and fit.
- Managing the department testing and AQL programme.
- Monitoring returns data to spot patterns and poor performance to deliver improvements.
- Building supplier relationships to influence quality and fit.
- Managing an assistant garment technologist and driving their development.
We’d love to meet someone with
- At least 5 years in the garment tech discipline.
- Good knowledge of pattern-cutting, grading, garment construction and production processes.
- Knowledge of sustainable fabrications and certification programmes.
- Good data management reporting skills.
- Experience of working with offshore suppliers.
- Excellent influencing, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Team player capable of working under pressure to deadlines.
- Organised, methodical with great attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
